“We are burned out, but not from the reason we think. It’s from the constant dissonance between what we know teaching is, and what we’re being told it should be. We’re burned out from holding something sacred in a system that has become a business. Our society treats education like a transaction. It wants to weigh it, measure it, calculate it so it can apply a monetary amount to it to show the community (the share holders). In that we’ve lost the purpose of education.”
